WHAT TO DO WHEN WE CAN DO NOTHING
LUKE 23: 44 – 49
We all find ourselves in situations in which, humanly speaking, we can do absolutely nothing else, in which “our hands are tied”. At such times, do we completely give up in despair, or might we learn a lesson from the example given us in his passage by the early followers of Jesus as they watched Him being crucified. We learn from them that when it seems we can do nothing, we can always:
I. STAND FAITHFULLY
A. A love that hate could not overcome.
B. A light that darkness could not extinguish.
C. A life that death could not conquer.
1 Corinthians 16: 13 Ephesians 6: 13 – 14
II. STAND PRAYERFULLY
A. Luke 11: 1 “Lord, teach us to pray”
B. John 19: 30
C. Psalm 31: 5
III. STAND TOGETHER
A. The patience to accept the things we cannot change.
B. The courage to change the things we can
change.
C. The wisdom to know the difference.
